Army Watches
Army watches, or military watches were developed for use in the armed forces. Earlier, they were nothing but, naval pieces, chronometers that worked well for their purposes, but when the other branches of the military - aviation in particular - made major technological advancements during the Second World War, the precision became critical.
During moder times, the army watch possess, the watches that have seconds bezel allowed the pilot to synchronize the seconds hand with correct reference time before takeoff, and to make manual corrections to radio time signals while in flight, thus eliminating any "chronometer error" and the navigational errors that could result.
Most of the army watches are waterproof (water resistant) to at least 5 mt (50 meters), very robust and fitted with a special scratch-resistant mineral glass or a scratch-proof sapphire glass. These cases are made from stainless steel (with very few exceptions) and the gilt parts are plated to 5 microns.
